Mercy Retreat - June 20-23, 2013
Almost all arrived shortly after 2:30 p.m. and after being checked into their room they were directed to where they could temporarily park to unload their sewing supplies. It didn’t take long for everyone to get very busy on their projects. It was a wonderful surprise to learn that Cordelia had made adorable, and very useful, Coffee Mug Caddies for each participant. Door prizes were given out all weekend. On Friday afternoon we played Right, Left, Center for fat quarters with Valerie Kinion ending up the big the winner. Having single rooms and absolutely delicious food are the real selling points of Mercy Center - the special cookies they provide us in the sewing room provided additional temptation.
Then there were “The Boys.” A handsome group of Jesuit High School Graduates participating in a 1st Annual Alumni Retreat. One of their advisors asked if we all wanted to do a little “speed dating” after dinner on Friday night. We explained that our fabric was calling to us so we had to refuse the offer - so sad.
